Integrative Psychotherapy

Evidence proves, that no therapeutic approach is superior – and clinical experience indicates that particular therapeutic approaches suit particular clients.

Integrative psychotherapy draws on a diverse range of theories and modalities, to meet the specific needs of the client. Each person is acknowledged as unique, with no one mind being the same as another.

Most mainstream psychology solely incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), whereby distressing thoughts are therapeutically reframed to lead to more adaptive behavior. In contrast, Integrative Psychotherapy not only includes CBT, but also incorporates a diverse range of approaches – including but not limited to, psychodynamic/psychoanalytic therapy, somatic therapy and attachment repair.

Psychotherapy is an embodied and live process, often drawing on the wisdom of the body, imaginal processes and the relationship between therapist and client.

Individualised Treatment

With your collaboration, a treatment plan is designed to meet your specific challenges, needs and goals. Theories and modalities are chosen to suit you, rather than imposing a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.

Diversity is to be celebrated and Alexandra welcomes individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, those differently abled, and from all faiths, cultures and ages.

That you feel safe and understood is the highest priority and the measure of therapeutic benefit.
